We stayed at a "tall hotel," as Will likes to call it, in South Bend. We really could have slept in forever this morning, but had to get going on our way. Still, with all there was to do, it was later than we wanted getting out on the road: packing up, breakfast, car wash, bathroom (again and again), etc. Life, right?!
I loved driving through the campus of Notre Dame. It is very old looking, just like I would have imagined.
The Utah Utes football team will be coming to play a game here this next season--since we won't be coming then, we took a picture of the stadium now.
Of course we had to take a picture of the graveyard which is on campus. How many campuses can boast that?! Plus, the boys love graveyards, and this one was pretty cool.
An emergency pit stop for one boy (Will) brought us to this pit stop for him to take care of his business, and then we decided it was time to make lunch. I love all the fun places we get to stop to have lunch on these kind of trips.
While I was making lunch, Jake prepared his "snow fort" to get ready for the great snowball fight he and Daren had after lunch. Game on!!

Will kept himself entertained by drawing lots of Titanic pictures...this was his first of many! He is getting pretty darn good at it too.
Thank goodness today was the last day of long drives...at least for a few days. I started driving in Pittsburgh (which was beautiful at night as we drove in), took one wrong turn trying to follow the GPS, and we wound up in a little bit scary part of downtown. Up to this point there had been a few hills here and there, but after Pittsburgh and almost all the way to D.C., there were big hills and plenty of winding turns. And those big semi trucks just fly by you! We made it to Tyler and Marjorie's just after midnight and were happy to crash into bed sometime around 1am. We made it!! Yea!
